Quick Update...

Well it has been a more eventful week for us. The biggest drama was that Rob got stung be a scorpion Thursday night! It was horrible! I guess that is our official welcome to the desert! Rob was just walking through the family room and must have stepped on it and it go his foot. He said it was painful and the poison was even making his leg twitch! The worst part was he felt it for two days! Needless to say we had the exterminators out on Sat. to spray the place down. We also went and bought a black light because for some reason you can see scorpions with a black light, they glow, it is gross. So Rob has been obsessed with checking the house every night. He even got up at 4:30 Sat. night when I got up to feed the baby to check the house again! We have not found anymore so far. We are starting to think it was a fluke he even got stung. We have told so many people who have lived here 20 yrs. and they have never been stung. It is crazy! So hopefully that problem is resolved! It gives me the willies still when I think about it.
We have been venturing out more. We took Taylor to church for the first time yesterday. It was fun to put her in a dress, she looked so cute (thanks Melissa)! Of course we only stayed through the second hour because she pooped everywhere and I did not have a change of clothes. I am learning that a change of clothes is an essential, I really need to be packing a change of clothes for myself too for when she spits up all over me! After church we even ran to a Christmas dinner Rob's office was having. It turned out to be a lot of fun. On Saturday my parents offered to watch Taylor for a bit so Rob and I could get out. So we went to dinner just the two of us. It was so nice, but we were both so tired that we were half asleep!

We also got our first Christmas tree. I am so excited. This is our first Christmas ever that we will be at home and not traveling. We have had so much fun setting the tree up and decorating the house. We hope the tree stays alive till Christmas though, it is already dropping so many needles! Rob swears we are getting a fake one next year. He had a hard time getting it in the base, which wasn't fun. It smells so good though!!

Rob took this picture of Taylor and I napping. I was just so tired, as always, I decided it wasn't worth it to try and get her go back to sleep in her bed. I am trying not to get into a habit of doing this though even though it is so much easier :)

Learning as we go!

Well I finally feel like we are getting somewhat of a routine down. I am learning how to take care of Taylor and manage to eat and shower myself! The lack of sleep is probably the hardest, but I think that I am even figuring out how to run without much of it. Taylor has already changed so much we feel like. Part of me wants her to stay this small forever.

We had a nice quiet Thanksgiving at my parents house. It was just what we wanted to do, relax, hang out with the family a little bit and eat some really good food.

Other than that we are still tryibg to get the house organized, it is getting there. We gave Taylor her first bath last night. She seemed to likt it even though she looks irritated in all of the pictures!

Everyone thinks she looks just like Rob! It is hard for me to tell.

They are always cute when they are asleep, huh!?!

Rob's Birthday Present...

Our little girl has arrived! She came one week early right on her daddy's birthday. Rob was so excited, he said it was the present he could ahve gotten. I started having contractions Sunday morning and they continued all day. Well by 11:00 they were about 3 min. apart and pretty uncomfortable. So we thought I guess we should go to the hospital! We get there and get all hooked up and the nurse said that my contractions weren't very strong. They had us walk around the hospital for about 30 min. and checked again and nothing was happening. I was about 3 cm. and almost 100% effaced, but I had been about 2 cm. for two weeks already so it wasn't a big jump. They told us we could keep walking or go home. So we decided to go home and try to get some sleep. At this point it was like 2 in the morning so we were pretty beat. I was able to get a couple of hourse, but the contactions were too uncomfortable so I got up and decided to unpack a bunch of boxes, because we just moved into our house, and they were just getting worse and worse. Well I wasn't sure ow long to wait because I didn't want to go back to the hospital and have them tell me I still wasn't progressing! I had a scheduled dr.'s appt. at 10:20 and we were going to try to wait and go to that. Well at 10:00 I told Rob we had to just go to the hospital, I could't take it anymore! We went to the hospital, which luckily was just 5 min. away, and the rest was a whirlwind! I was 8 cm. and they said the baby was ready to go! They were hooking me up and wheeling me into labor and delivery so fast. I got my epidural, which was wonderful! It was less than an hour later I was 10 cm. and ready to push! An hour and a half later she was here!

Her name is Taylor Diana Seymour

She was 7 lbs. 6 oz. and 19 in. long

Rob just adores her already...

We are so excited, we feel very blessed that everything went ok and that she is healthy. We have so much going on, we had just moved into our house on Thursday. So life is a little crazy, but we are already starting to adjust. We have had a lot of help, it has been nice!

Halloween

Hope we don't offend any one with these pictures!! Rob and I were going to a Halloween party with some people from his office. We could not decide what to dress up as, there are only so many things you can wear when your about 9 months pregnant! So we got the idea of the pregnant nun and then somebody suggested Rob should be a priest. We thought it was pretty funny!

Lobsters!

So Rob has this patient that owns some kind of lobster company. Well he came in to see Rob yesterday and brought Rob two two pound lobsters! They we just in this box with an ice pack and they were totally alive. The guy told Rob how to cook them so he was in charge of that. Besides I started to feel bad killing them!

It is crazy looking, huh! I have decided I really don't like to see my food alive right before I eat it!

Maybe I just got too attached to them because I was lugging them around with me all day. I thought my neices and nephew would like to see them so I took them over to my sisters house for most the day. She was trying to get the kids to name them but luckily they didn't! It was bad enough when my neice started saying she loved the lobster and my sister, Chrystal, started explaining to her that Aunt Ashley was going to eat it!! She was probably horrified!

Here is Rob with his final product. He actually cooked them really well and they were tasty. It was fun because it was something I would never buy on my own.

Projects

Since we moved to AZ I have been able to hang out with my Mom a lot which has been so fun. Except we are bad when we shop together because we talk eachother into everything. We have recently vowed to be better! Anyways, Mom wanted a new picture for over her bed so we decided to make one. It was fun and I think she really liked how it turned out. We were also proud because we had no help from our husbands. We did everthing from buying the wood and all of the sawing by ourselves!
