My Girls

When Brecklynn was 4 days old my sister, Chrystal, came over to take some pictures. She got some great shots of my girls. Thank you! Here are a few...

My fav. of Taylor

I already just cherish these pictures so much! Brecklynn is just getting so big so fast, and Taylor too. I only have them this size for such a short while!

Brecklynn

It is sad I know. She is ten weeks old now! I blame it on exhaustion, losing the cord for my camera and laziness.

Here is out little girl.
Brecklynn Charmaine Seymour
She was born June 9th at 7:45
7 lbs. 13 oz and 20 in. long

She was actually about two weeks early. She wasn't due until the 21st. I went to my doctor's on the 7th and he told me that I was almost 5 cm. I was pretty surprised. I figured I would be dilated, but a 5 seemed like a lot. So he gave me this whole spiel about not waiting till me contractions get to bead when I do go into labor because he was so worried about me making it to the hospital. Which that whole thought freaked me out. Anyway I had been having on and off contractions for days. Then early in the morning on the 9th the seemed a little more consistent. Rob left for work and just told him to keep his cell phone on him. I decided to get ready for the day. My contractions became closer, like every 10 min. So then I decided I should probably pack my bag! Around 1:00 they were about 7 min. apart. I was nervous to wait to long to get to the hospital so I called Rob. He said he would be home in 30 min. So then I called my mom to come sit with Taylor. Rob got home. I said bye to Taylor. It was almost emotional. I was weird to me that this would be our last time with just the three of us. I was worried about how she would be with the new baby and how much it was going to change her world! Anyway, we left for the hospital. Checked in, I was about a 7. They moved me to my room and got me all set up. Told me I could get my epidural and I said, "yes please!" It was all very clam. We aren't sure if it was because we knew what to expect this time, but we were both clam and just happy and enjoying our time. So I reached about a 10 but my water wasn't breaking. So we had to wait for my doctor to come and he didn't show up till 7. He broke my water and I pushed for maybe 20 min. and she was here! Way different than the two hours of pushing with Taylor!

My mom brought Taylor over right after she was born. Taylor was a little nervous being in the hospital and didn't know what to think. She has been so great though and just ADORES her now.

She is very dark. Dark hair and darker skin than Taylor. Her eyes look like they are going to be blue. Everyone still says she looks like Rob even though she will have brown hair and blue eyes like me.

Now these pictures are so old because she is so much bigger already! My goal is to be better about writing down all of her milestones and stuff like I did with Taylor. Hopefully I can do it!

Another thing I can cross off of my list!

I have this huge list of before baby things that I want to get done. We will see how much I can get accomplished, but I did want to update my sad little blog. Is it possible to recap like 4 months in a few pictures?

This is some of the highlights( or activities I had my camera around for) of what we have been up to. Besides laying around and being lazy in bed of course...

February 5th: Rob entered the tennis tournament at our clubhouse. He played some really good guys and was able to hold his own. He did not win though. Taylor and I had a good time watching and cheering him on none the less.

I love her goofy faces.

Beginning of March: It started to get really nice outside. So we had more and more days playing at the park. This was just one day we went to have a picnic lunch and play with my sister Chrystal and her kids.

March 17-19: Rob and I decided to get away for a weekend. We went to Palm Springs, Ca. where the Indian Wells Tennis tournament was being held. It was something Rob has been dying to go and watch. I have to admit that I had more fun than I thought I would. It was great to see these major player like Federer and Nadal up close and how amazing they really are. We also got to lay by the pool, read books and really just relax. We are thinking of making it a yearly tradition.

26 Weeks: This is on the trip. It really makes me laugh out loud looking at it now because I remember feeling big at the time! Nothing compared to the present belly situation.

April 12th: Took Taylor to the zoo w/ my friend Krissy and her little boy Brody. It was our first zoo trip. Taylor seemed to enjoy the animals. I am sure we will be back.

The highlight was feeding the giraffes. She was a little timid, understandably. Especially since the zoo lady was pushing her into the giraffe by her shirt collar. You can see her hand on Taylor back! Ha! It is the one thing she kept talking about after we left.

This is just an example of how silly Taylor can be. This is total ragamuffin, (that is really a weird word who knows if I spelled it right) nothing on but a diaper and stringy hair in full force. That is just how it is by the afternoon sometimes and we are ok with that :) Anyways she found some free stickers we got in the mail and decided to put them all over her body. Rob and I just laugh. We really enjoy seeing more and more of her personality coming out.

April 22nd: Ward Easter Egg hunt. It was a lot of fun. I didn't know if Taylor would actually participate or cling to me, but when she realized what to do she was all over it!

Spotting more eggs- no time for a picture!

April 26th-28th: Women's Conference. I was able to fly to Utah with my sister Chrystal and Stay with my other sister Amber who just moved up there. We were able to attend Women's Conference at BYU. As hard as it can be to leave our hubbies and kids, it was so fun. The talks were very motivating and inspiring. I do wish we had more time just to play though. We were so tired from getting up early and running around the campus all day we were exhausted by time we got back to Amber's. At least I was, maybe I was the party pooper.

I'm telling you though, hiking up the Smith feild house stairs, if you know them, at 32 weeks pregnant I thought I was going to go into labor! Ok, not really I am just out of shape too and I know I probably would have felt the same even if I wasn't pregnant!! And it was snowing while we were there which was pretty crazy, for us anyway. It was so much fun just to be with my sisters though. Something else I need to make a yearly ritual!

36 Weeks: This was just last week. Feeling big. I am already 3 cm. dilated. We will see if I go into labor early or just walk around this way for 3 more weeks. Probably the latter.

Memorial day weekend: We had a nice long weekend together. Had the family over for a BBQ and did lots of swimming.

This is what happens when dad gives you a bath. It is way more fun with tons of water and bubble and jets on in the tub. She thought it was the greatest, just like almost everything else Rob does with her.

Maybe the next post will be of our new little one! I am so excited and my thoughts are consumed with this baby and all that is involved. I keep telling myself to enjoy these last few weeks. I want to spend time playing with Taylor just one on one because I am feeling bad for her already and the probably lack of attention she will get, compared to what she is used to at least. I am also telling myself to enjoy actually sleeping. These things are hard though when I am not sleeping well and feel too BIG to really play around with Taylor. That is just how it is and I am not wanting to complain because all in all I feel good!

Recent developments.

( Rob walked into our bathroom one day to find that Taylor had put on some of my lipstick and shoes!)

Taylor has become a bit of a drama queen lately. Maybe it is being two or maybe it is the fact that she doesn't want to nap anymore. Whatever it is I find myself mentally exhausted some days. She can go from totally happy running around to crying over something in less than a second! She has developed this new whiny voice too that she likes to use instead of actual words a lot. She has also just become more demanding. She wants what she wants and a lot of times that is me. So I hear a lot of "come on, come on"! all day and since I am often trying to do something else there is a meltdown. The problem is I know she can be this wonderfully happy child! And she really is so sweet sometimes. When we put her to bed lately and say "I love you" she says it back, but then after we shut the door she keeps yelling it over and over. It is so cute to us so we always end up yelling it back and forth a bunch of times. I guess it is the sweet moments that get you through the crazy ones!?
I just had been hoping the nap would last till the next kid was ere. Maybe that was too wishful thinking? It went downhill around Christmas. She was still napping, but then couldn't fall asleep for hours at night. So when we don't nap her she will go right to bed earlier. OR sometimes she just refuses to nap. So depressing.
I guess I am just hoping all goes well when our next little one arrives. On Taylor's bad days I am a little scared! Things with the pregnancy have been very uneventful which is wonderful. Besides being a little tired, which I think I always seem to be pregnant or not, I have been feeling great.
We did find out on Monday it is another little GIRL! We are totally thrilled to have two little girls and we are excited for Taylor to have a sister close in age. I love, love my sisters and want that for her so much! It is going to be an adventure.

A pitiful Christmas post.

I have just realized this is really all of the pictures I took at Christmas, which are all from Christmas night at me parents house and not a single one from Christmas morning! We did get a lot of video! Christmas was really fun this year because Taylor was so excited to open presents. She did really get any of the anticipation excitement or any of the Santa business, just really liked tearing off that paper. We had a really quiet Christmas. It was just us in the morning. We slept till Taylor woke up around 8:30 and then took our time, mostly watching her, open presents. Her big gift was this adorable play kitchen that I scored at a yard sale. I had been wanting to get her one and this was a wood one in mint condition for a pretty good price, so I was pretty excited about it. This is the Costco version of the pillow pet my mom got all the grand kids. It is huge! Taylor loves to lay on it at night and read books.

Do you notice the trend with the smile? That is usually what I get when I ask her to smile now. It is such a cheese, better than a frown though!

November

November 17th was Rob and Taylor's Birthdays!
The weekend before we had the family over for some cake and ice cream.
My attempts at an Elmo cake since he is Taylor's favorite. I used so much food coloring though to get him red enough that the frosting tasted bad! It wasn't even frosting anymore, we just fed everyone pure Red 40,yum.

On their actual birthday my parents took Taylor out for ice cream and to pick out a book at the book store. Rob and I took advantage and went out to dinner so he could feel like it was his birthday too.

These aren't great pictures but this was her big present I gave her on her birthday morning. It is a little felt house that I made. She was pretty excited about it. Thank goodness! After all the work I was worried she wouldn't even care about it. It is just a little playhouse my sister Chrystal gave me the idea for like a year ago! There are things on all of the outside walls to play with and a couple of doors. It just took me forever to sit down and finish it.

You can see the mullet in full force here.

We hosted Thanksgiving at our house this year and had most of Rob's siblings come out. We had a lot of fun playing some game and chatting and eating a lot. We rented a bounce house for the kids, which was a big hit and a great babysitter I might add! Yes I was super lame and did not take a single picture which I regret terribly but what can you do!

Oh my...

How did I get so far behind? Let's start with October.

The beginning of October we went to Newport Beach with my family. We had a wonderful and relaxing trip.

The biggest news is that while we were there we found out that I am pregnant! We are super excited (and at times super scared too!) Due in June :)

Then it was time for Halloween. This is us at the pumpkin patch. I guess it was more of a big pile of pumpkins.

Taylor was a little fairy for Halloween. She was SUPER cranky as I was trying to get a picture and this was the best I got. Our ward puts on a big festival in the park that we went to first where we ate and Taylor played a little on the huge bounce house which she LOVED. She did surprisingly well at the trunk or treat, considering when we are usually around strangers she clings to me. She actually would walk up and hold her little bucket out to get candy, she wouldn't say anything to them though.

Anyways, that was our October. Next I will try and do November and then hopefully I will be caught up eventually.
