Slap back into reality...

( photos courtesy of Becky)
A couple of weekends ago Rob and I got to go to San Diego. It was all part of a work convention, but it was a weekend away from responsibility and the heat so we loved it. We headed out on a Thur. afternoon and stayed through Sunday. Rob only had a couple of meetings Fri. morning so all of the rest of the time we just got to hang out. We went out to eat, walked all around, took a ferry to Coronado and ate some more! We just had the best time. I think you start to forget what your relationship is like without the kid and work and day to day stuff that normally comes in between. Not that we don't love those things, well we love Taylor maybe not work! Anyways, it was just fun to have a lot of time just to be with each other. Friday night another group of doctors came in and we got to meet up with our friends from Pittsburgh Joel and Becky, as well as make some new friends. It was fun to see the Tiffany's and catch up. It was so good to see what they were up to and talk about Pittsburgh. Silly though that it took us both going on this trip to see each other when we live so close! Saturday was filled with a lot more work stuff but hanging out with friends made it a lot of fun.
The Brutal part is always coming home and trying to get back into the swing of normal life after playing for days. The day after we got back home Taylor woke up barfing. It was lovely. Our first experience with the dreaded stomach flu. This wasn't just any flu though, it was the never ending stomach flu. She was sick a lot the first day, then she was doing really good the beginning of the next day but by bed time she was cranky and barfing again. Well it went on like that for about a week. Cranky and barfing once a day. It was not fun.
Thank goodness she is better and back to herself. Rob and I were thinking that she was just becoming an ornery child because she was sick and cranky for what felt like forever. This is when I remember why I am a bit of a germ-a-phob, I just hate it when she is sick!
The other horrible first experience I recently had was getting stung by a scorpion. this last Sunday Rob and I were just sitting on the couch watching TV and I felt this prick. I though it was just something on the couch poking me and then I felt the prick going up my back. I yelled to Rob to look if there was a bug on my back and he starts yelling and flicks this little baby scorpion right off my back. IT stung me at least three time going up my back. It was painful at first but it went away pretty fast. I am probably lucky it was just a baby, violating all the same though. We HATE, HATE the scorpions. Nothing makes Rob grumpier than finding one in the house!

Taylor's first visit to nursery.

(a goofy picture of us from a month ago)

So a couple of Sunday's ago was Taylor's first Sunday in the Nursery. I had been taking her in there for awhile now so she was pretty used to it and ran right in! But when I went to pick her up after church I went in and she wasn't there. I asked the girls if Rob had already come for her and they just looked at each other. It was then concluded that she must have escaped during some of the commotion of other kids being picked up. We all went to look for her and she was found just walking around the halls totally oblivious. It was kind of funny. And Taylor is a runner so I am not that surprised!

Yesterday was a different story. She was cranky and clingy and it took me awhile to sneak out, and when I did she cried. It wasn't for long though and they said she was fine for the rest of the time, so we will see!

GAME 4

Rob had the chance to go to the Suns vs. Lakers game with one of his friends a couple of weeks ago. He just kept telling me it was amazing. I don't think many people were expecting the Suns to win, but they did and it turned ou to be a GREAT game. They had some good seats too and really loved every minuet.

Pool Day

It's already that time of year. Pool day instead of park day because it is getting too warm. I am so excited though because this year Taylor really enjoys the pool. I love the beach pool. She just plays in the sand and shallow water and is in heaven ( so am I!).

Mother's Day 2010

Me and my girl - Mother's Day 2010

Just wanted to put up some pics from Mother's Day. I had a wonderful day. Rob took care of Taylor and changed all of the diapers( which is all the present I needed), but he also made me some yummy shish kabobs and gave me a couple of things I wanted for the house. Then we went to my mom's to eat dessert and wish her a Happy Mothers Day. The men were watching the Suns game so we took the kids to the little park nearby just to get out of the house. It was a great day. I am so grateful to live by my mom and sister to celebrate this day with them ( wish you were here too Amber!) It is so great to be able to call them all and get advice on all of my questions! I love being a mom and it is such a fun day. It is also a hard day for us though because we think a lot about Rob's mom and miss her. We wish we could celebrate with her and especially that she could meet Taylor.

Rob's mom
We are so grateful for our moms and all of the love we have received throughout our lives.

Taylor at the park- this girl will only smile when she wants to!

Just a pic in her Easter dress I forgot to put up

The end of March I had my 27th b-day. Starting to sound a little old! My birthday was great. Rob spoiled me and really gave me a birthday week. Starting on Wednesday he had a little surprise for me everyday. One day my mom babysat and we went out to eat and he gave me a little present. Then the next day we went for ice cream and he gave me another little present! Than on Friday he arranged for my family to come over and we ate dinner and did the cake and opened more presents. So Spoiled, huh?!!! Then, yes there is more, on Sat. my mom watched Taylor all morning and Rob and I drove to the outlet mall and spent the afternoon shopping and eating lunch just the two of us! It was all wonderful.

That's a lot of candles!

For Easter we just had a little mini egg hunt inside with Taylor. Which really only lasted about 5 min. and consisted of about 4 eggs. I figured she doesn't know the difference! Then on Sunday we went to my sisters and had a yummy Easter dinner. That was actually the same day that there was that earthquake in CA. I was at the kitchen sink when all of the sudden I noticed the pool water sloshing back and forth. Then rob was like, "I think we just had a little earthquake". I laughed at him like "Please we don't have earthquakes here". But we noticed the chandelier was really swinging too. So we turned the news on and there it was. We were feeling it all the way from CA. Crazy!

Overall, I had a WONDERFUL birthday and a very peaceful Easter :)

We held on as long as we could!

A couple of weeks ago Taylor officially went down to one nap. It is nice that I have more time in the morning to run errands, but hard because I feel like I only have half of the time I used to to get things done around the house!
